From Baileywyc to Wysiwyg Since 1985, Baileywyc Welsh terriers have made their mark in AKC conformation and obedience rings, in temperament tests, in earthdog trials, at other performance events, and in homes throughout the midwest where they are loved as pets. Lucy Bailey's careful breeding program has produced dogs that are sound of mind and body, enthusiastic competitors, and delightful companions. Baileywyc dogs have always been shown naturally, with no cosmetic changes other than those allowed or required by the AKC Welsh terrier breed standard: docked tails, dewclaws removed, and coats hand-stripped. This philosophy -- "the best Welsh terriers come naturally" -- led Lucy and Linda Schulte to adopt a new kennel name in the year 2000: WYSIWYG Welsh terriers, where "what you see is what you get." Begining with WYSIWYG Litter #9, we have discontinued docking tails. |
